About Us

The Solomike Early Childhood Center (SECC) offers a child-centered and directed learning environment, supporting the natural development of children through our Reggio Emilia-inspired approach. Our full-day, high-quality childcare program will operate 5 days per week, providing care to children ages 6 weeks to 6 years old.

Located adjacent to Temple B’nai Torah, SECC benefits from access to shared communal spaces—including a children’s library, an indoor play space, a kitchen, and our beautiful Temple sanctuary—fostering a sense of belonging and connection.

While membership at Temple B’nai Torah is not required for enrollment, families interested in deepening their connection to our community will find seamless access to a rich network of programs and services, including holiday celebrations, family events, intergenerational gatherings, pastoral care, and lifelong learning opportunities. SECC is more than a school—it’s a doorway into a warm, inclusive community where children and families can grow together.

Our Mission

At SECC, our mission is to repair the world (Tikkun Olam), one student at a time, by fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and enriching learning environment.

Our Vision

We envision a future generation of leaders who are lovers of learning and permeate Love, Kindness & Wisdom throughout their communities and the World.

Our Values

Love Your Neighbor as Yourself (Ve’ahavta L’rei’acha Kamocha) (Leviticus 19:18)

We teach children the importance of kindness, empathy, and community, ensuring they grow into individuals who care for others and build meaningful relationships.

From Generation to Generation (L’dor Vador)

Following Deuteronomy 6:5-7, we embrace the sacred responsibility of teaching and passing down values, ensuring that our children grow up rooted in faith, tradition, and a love for learning.

Pursue Justice and Give Mercy (Tzedek, Tzedek Tirdof) (Micah 6:8)

We model and encourage fairness, equity, and moral responsibility, guiding children to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly in their interactions.

Seeking Peace (Shalom) (Psalm 34:14)

We foster an environment of peace, gentleness, and love, where children learn to manage their emotions, practice self-control, and seek harmony in their interactions.

Repairing the World (Tikkun Olam)

We are committed to making a difference through education, fostering a culture of care, responsibility, and positive action.

Wisdom, Understanding, and Knowledge (Chochmah, Binah, Da’at)

We believe that children are born with limitless cognitive capabilities, and we create environments that help them explore their potential as independent thinkers and problem-solvers.

Respect and Dignity (Kavod)

We honor each child and family, upholding values of privacy, confidentiality, and deep respect for diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

Caring for the Earth (Shomrei Ha’adamah)

We cultivate an appreciation for nature and environmental responsibility, encouraging children to respect and nurture the world around them.
